Of Leonardo da Vinci at Southbank Centre – 4 September

“Why does the eye see a thing more clearly in dreams than with the imagination being awake?” Leonardo da Vinci, Notebooks

Elaine Mitchener presents the London Premiere of this contemporary movement-opera for improvising vocalist, film and sound at Southbank Centre – Purcell Room on Tuesday 4 September, 19:45.

Elaine Mitchener and director Dam Van Huynh collaborate to develop David Toop’s music and libretto, with film by Barry Lewis. Together they push the boundaries of opera, testing emotional extremes both vocally and physically, drawing audiences into a unique intimate realm of disturbing beauty.
