Elaine Mitchener turns to the black avant-garde and to the overflow of experiment

A new - as yet untitled - commission from LCMF marks Mitchener’s debut composing for the festival’s orchestra conducted by Jack Sheen.

Mitchener presents a half-hour documentary on the life and music of the brilliant New York composer-performer, campaigner and activist.

Elaine’s voice is featured along with Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins), Beth Gibbons (Portishead) and Melanie Pappenheim, a women’s chorus

The Museum of London Docklands presents SWEET TOOTH by acclaimed vocalist and movement artist Elaine Mitchener on Friday 18 May, 7:30pm. 

The third full Occupy the Pianos festival, curated by pianist and composer Rolf Hind will take place between 20-22 April at St John's Smith Square.
