Elaine Mitchener turns to the black avant-garde and to the overflow of experiment
A new - as yet untitled - commission from LCMF marks Mitchener’s debut composing for the festival’s orchestra conducted by Jack Sheen.
Mitchener presents a half-hour documentary on the life and music of the brilliant New York composer-performer, campaigner and activist.
Elaine’s voice is featured along with Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins), Beth Gibbons (Portishead) and Melanie Pappenheim, a women’s chorus
