The festival opened with the premiere of [NAMES] – a 3 hour durational work and a chapter from Sweet Tooth.
Public sharing of SWEET TOOTH at St George’s Bloomsbury – a Hawksmoor church which is said to have had links with the Abolitionist movement.
The performance featured:

Sylvia Hallet, Jason Yarde, Mark Sanders – instrumentalists
Commissioned by the artist Sonia Boyce to create I back…I neck…I face…I chest – a 20 minute ‘anonymous exploration of identity through movement, sound art and vocalisation’ which was performed to an invited audience and filmed as part of We Move In Her Way, a new project by Sonia Boyce. Sonia’s video installation will be shown in Feb 2017.

The Nude Voice is a work devised by long-term collaborators vocal artist Elaine Mitchener and choreographer Dam Van Huynh, through which they continue to explore the dynamic and challenges of vocal movement art.
Presented as part of This Is A Voice exhibition.
